#66 Painted, Malifaux, The M&SU, Ramos, Howard Langston

Malifaux, The M&SU, Ramos, Howard Langston

Introduction

The largest model in the box and the most delicate, I didn't know what to do with this guy, I wanted him to look good but because of the model itself there wasn't a heap I was going to be able to do to his paint to make him different he is essentially metal and flesh and that's what I worked on,

Basing

I could have fit him on the 50mm base with his legs riding the outside edge. I really dont like that so I built out the base with some tanbark to make him a little higher and make the pose a little more heroic.

I ended up using tanbark but I did try rocks and straws to also make the base more interesting, I felt adding too much to the base detracted from the model and decided to remove a few things, this also in my opinion added to the desolate nature of the base scheme I went for. I wanted a sparse junk yard not a junk city.

Conclusion

I wasn't sure I was going to like my result with this guy off his base I was very ho-hum about him. Then he hit the base and I had to force his legs a little to get him settled and was VERY worried about. Then I took a step back and was really happy. He looked good. and fitted in.
