Introduction

I really wanted this guy to look good, maybe its because the model was so annoying to get put together or perhaps its because it didn't fit on its base but I didn't want this model to ruin this box. I gave this guy all my effort to produce something good.

Step By Step

Brass Spider

1. Prime Models: Black (Vallejo, Surface Primer Black)
2. Rough all over dry brush: Silver (Army Painter, Gun Metal)
3. Edge dry brush: Bronze (Citadel, Balthasar Gold)
4. Top dry brush: Gold (Army Painter, Greedy Gold)
5. Smoke: Grey (Vallejo Game Color, Sombre Grey)
6. Ink: Brown (Army Painter Ink, Soft Tone)
7. Smoke Highlight: Cream (P3 Menoth White Base)

 Bases

1. Prime Models: Black (Vallejo, Surface Primer Black)
2. Rough dry brush of the dirt: Brown (Reaper, Ashen Brown)
3. Rough dry brush of the dirt: Brown (Reaper, Golden Brown)
4. Rough dry brush of the Rock/Wood: Grey (Vallejo Game Colour, Sombre Grey)
5. Rough dry brush of the Rock/Wood: Grey (Reaper, Concrete Grey)
6. Edged: Black (Army Painter, Matt Black)

Basing

I really struggled to setup a base for this guy initially I tried having straws layered out in a fan supporting his legs but that just made the base huge. I then decided to go vertical and had a really nice bit of tanbark from the park which would look like an obelisk of rock. I trimmed off the base to make a square side and embedded it in the wall filler. I think is about the only way to go in the long run with this model looking at other peoples progress with the spider they all either have it perched on something or they have it on a wall like mine.

Conclusion

While I'm not sold on the layout of the miniature I do think it looks creepy. I've freaked out two people with it, only then realising someones reaction might be to bash it.

If I could say one this about this guy is he is Much Much creepier when its painted than when its in its grey base plastic.
