#6 Painted, Malifaux, Johan

Malifaux, Johan

Introduction

I kinda got this guy "helped" on me, my Local Friendly Game Store (LFGS) manager at house of war was very helpful explaining how The brewmaster crew needed a few things to get better, at that point I was abandoning the Crew for Criid, but I felt what the heck, I wanted something small and new and thus Johan was acquired.

Whats in the Box?

Just Him his base and his card.

Hes a strong looking model, very tall and solid just rather uninspired and seems to already be on my don't care list. I painted him at the same time as Criid but did the base differently so as to try and match the Brewmaster. That's why the trousers have that white dry brush on them.

Assembly

Fairly easy to assemble I do think the wrist join will break eventually so I pinned the thing in place I also bet at some point I'm going to snap the top off the hammer.

Painting

  1. Primed: Gray (Vallejo, Gray Primer)
  2. Primed From the bottom: Black (Vallejo, Black Primer)
  3. Clothing: Brown (Minitaire, Bark)
  4. Highlight clothing: Blue (Reaper, Nightsky Blue)
  5. Skin: Pink (Reaper, Caucasian Flesh)
  6. Hammer head: Gray (Reaper, Military Grey)
  7. Cloths Inked: Black (Army Painter Ink, Dark)
  8. Chain: Silver (Army Painter, Gun Metal)
  9. Clothing, Dry brushed: White (P3, Menoth White Highlight)

Basing

Used the same style as Closing Time, didn't work out as well, as i kinda rushed it.

Conclusion

I flip between like and dislike with this model, I feel uninspired by him but at the same time I really like the white dry brush on the pants it makes it look warn.
